Invitation to the Public!
The next Flohmarkt is scheduled to be on April 16, 2011.
On June 6, 2009, Sprach Institut-Cebu is inviting everyone to come visit and participate at our local version of the Flohmarkt which will happen on the 2nd floor of the Sprach Institut-Cebu. Registration is in the morning and goods will be displayed the whole day. All items will be labelled with their German name and bartering can be made in German.
A Flohmarkt, the German term for flea market is a type of bazaar where inexpensive or secondhand goods are sold or bartered. In Germany they happen most commonly outdoors. At a Flohmarkt you can find all sorts of used items and tiny treasures, ranging from used clothing to old books & CD's and even antique pieces of furniture.
Some of the most famous flea markets in German are the Berliner Flohmarkt beside the Mauer Park, the Frankfurter Flohmarkt am Mainufer, der Bonner Rheinauenflohmarkt, der Vohwinkeler Flohmarkt below the Wuppertaler Schwebebahn, the Trempelmarkt in Nürnberg, the Töster Markt in Tostedt, the Flohmarkt on the Promenade in Münster, the Altstadt-Flohmarkt along the Hohen Ufer in Hannover and the Flohmarkt in Konstanz by the Bodensee.
This activity is open to the public but is organized primarily for and by the SIC students to help them enrich their basic knowledge and Wortschatz of the German language.
