One of the Philippines’ most anticipated annual festivals is the Sinulog in Cebu City. People from different parts of the country travel all the way to the “Queen City of the South” and take part in the celebration that glorifies the patron saint Senior Santo Niño or Child Jesus. Sinulog is a nine-day fiesta which happens during the 3rd Sunday of January and has two major activities that include the religious procession and the grand street parade.(http://www.pinoytechnologies.com)

German Courses for Adults - Beginner Level (A1)
The German Basic Course A1 is a preparatory class for the Start Deutsch 1 language tests which are conducted jointly by the Goethe-Institut (GI) & Weiterbildungs-Testsysteme GmbH (WBT). This course also includes coaching classes which focus primarily on helping students pass the Start Deutsch 1 examinations. The entire course runs approximately 3 months with a total of 180 units.

Hans Hase Lehrerfortbildung
Am. 23. September wurde im Seminar das neu entwickelte Deutschlern-Material zu Hans Hase, der die Kinder durch 30 Lerneinheiten begleitet, vorgestellt. Ziele, Inhalte und Methoden des Programms und dessen mögliche Umsetzung wurden auch aufgezeigt. Anwesend waren die Lehrer von Sprach Institut-Cebu. Das Materialpaket und deren Nutzungen wie praktische Beispiele, Reflexion der Praxiseinheiten und Ableiten didaktisch-methodischer Grundsätze für erfolgreiches Implementieren von DaF im Kinderkurs, wurde über Herrn Ralf Gotsche vom Goethe Institut präsentiert.

Updated Requirements for Visa Application:
As of September 2007, applicants of a German residence permit for family reunion or marriage in Germany must provide proof of basic knowledge of German. This can be produced through the certificate of the language examination "Start Deutsch 1" from the Goethe-Institut Manila.
As of April 5th 2010, the Embassy has also introduced updated information leaflets for the visa application, as well as further changes in the procedure of processing visa applications.
